History

In 1891, Linda E. Landon became a librarian at the Michigan Agricultural College where she would inspire students and colleagues for the next 41 years. She met the school's immediate needs while also laying a solid foundation for the future. And so, in 1999 the Legacy Society was renamed in her honor to the Linda E. Landon Legacy Society. Like Linda Landon, you believe in Michigan State and its mission, and have made a commitment that inspires us today and prepares us for all the triumphs and challenges that lie ahead.

Benefits

Members of the Linda E. Landon Legacy Society receive certain benefits, which include:

• Recognition in the Landon Society Honor Roll
• Invitations to University events, including the annual Landon Society event
• Periodic newsletters that share University updates and stories about the impact of your generosity
• Valuable estate planning and financial resources and preferred access to our team of planned giving advisors
• A commemorative Landon Society memento

Membership

To qualify for membership, donors may select any of the following gift plans:

• Charitable bequest through a will/revocable living trust
• Charitable gift annuity
• Charitable remainder trust
• Charitable lead trust

Donors also qualify for membership in the Landon Society when they name MSU as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy, retirement plan, or deed of a personal residence or vacation home with retained life estate to Michigan State University.
